  • Parent Surveys 2016

    Mon 07 Nov 2016 R.King

    I would like to pass on huge thanks to everyone who took the time to complete our Parent Survey before half term. We received just over 100 replies which is approximately a 40% return.

    I really appreciate the honesty of your responses and the constructive criticism which has been offered in the spirit of whole school improvement.

    I will be collating all these results into a review document that will be posted on the website within the next two weeks that shows what you, our parents, perceive to be our strengths and areas for improvement.

    I will also draw up an action plan to address the majority of concerns you have raised - we want our school to be The Best it Can Be!

    Thanks to all

    Mrs R King

  • Class Induction Meetings

    Thu 08 Sep 2016 R.King

    We are aware that most children have moved into new classes this term and that parents might not have met their new teacher yet!

    Rather than leaving this until Parents’ Evening in October (see the online calendar on the website) all class teachers will be giving short information meetings for parents next week to give out further information about what it will look like in their class this year.

    These short meetings (no longer than 15 minutes) will cover such areas as:

    • Homework;

    • Marking;

    • Rules and responsibilities;

    • Expectations and behaviour;

    Plus will give you the opportunity to put a face to the name.

    If your child is in EYFS/RECEPTION there will be a separate meeting on Wednesday, 5th October.

    The meetings have been staggered for time in case parents have children in one or more class and times are as follows:

  • KS2 Production

    Mon 13 Jun 2016 R.King

    This year our children will be starring in

    ‘Alice in Wonderland’

    a musical production

     on Friday 15th July start time TBC.

    We are taking a break from tradition this year and are making the most of the local amenities by staging our performance in the Village Hall.

    This is for a range of reasons, but predominantly because:

    • There is a proper stage and dressing rooms! How exciting to feel like a real stage actor, with curtains, lighting and all the feel of a theatre!

    • It has a great space for seating the audience comfortably – so we don’t get overheated and can watch the efforts of the children in comfort.

    • We can raise the expectations of the children – we show how much we value their work and effort by showcasing it in a wonderful setting.

      The FSA will be on hand to provide refreshments before, during and after and the orchestra and instrumentalists will be there to entertain while we await the main event – we hope that this will be an amazing social event as well as an experience the children will never forget. See you there!

  • Museum Grand Opening

    Fri 20 May 2016

    Museum Grand Opening!!!

    In January Mrs King asked me if we could build a Museum in school.

    I gathered together an elite team of fellow historains made up of children from year 3- 6.  We have been meeting once a week in our lunchtimes to create our musuem and today it was officially opened by Mrs King.

    The children have worked extremley hard on creating this fantastic space and will now be on duty in the museum every lunchtime to give guided tours to their peers.

    A massive thank you goes out to Mrs Ede who has made our mueum signs which look fabulous.

    I’m so proud of my History club they have worked extremely hard and our museum looks amazing! They were all rewared in assembly for their hard work with a History badge!

    Mrs Mills
