  • 2017 SATs Results Success

    Mon 17 Jul 2017 R.King

    As you know, our children have to undertake certain assessments at different stages of their school life. These results get published by the Department for Education and are a yardstick by which one aspect of our school is measured.

    Last year, our Phonics and KS1 attainment results were significantly above national however our KS2 SATs results were only just above national.

    We are very pleased to let our school community know that our Phonics, KS1 and KS2 attainment results are all significantly above national with key improvements seen particularly in Reading and Maths at KS2. Well done to all the team and to the children for a year of hard work.

  • Look who popped in to school today!

    Thu 08 Jun 2017 R.King

    We had a very important visitor in to school as part of science week.

    This is Star the Golden Eagle - who is owned and cared for by Joshua Daniel-Fox's Grandad.

    We learned loads of new facts about this amazing bird including:

    • Eagles can live to be up to 50 years old!
    • Eagles salivate when they are getting ready to kill their prey, which not many birds actually do;
    • A Golden Eagle can kill other animals many times it's own size including..... WOLVES! How amazing is that!
    • Star was truly beautiful and incredibly well behaved and we were honoured to meet her.

    Wed 24 May 2017
    After all the teams performances were checked we found out that Long Bennington were amazing!  The boys team came second in their competition, out of 21 schools which is absolutely fantastic.  They were pipped by the girls though, who came first in their competition!  And for the icing on the cake, the mixed team also came first out of 21 schools!!  What a brilliant performance by all of them, we are so proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing the trophies proudly displayed in the cabinet soon smiley
