Due to the scheduling of a whole staff training event after school on Wednesday 20th September, our CLASS INDUCTION MEETINGS will now place on Wednesday, 13th September.
The times of each class meeting will be sent to you by Parentmail this week.
This meeting will be an opportunity to meet your child's new class teacher and to hear a little more about the timetable and curriculum, spellings and homework and ask any questions.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as can attend.
As you know, our children have to undertake certain assessments at different stages of their school life. These results get published by the Department for Education and are a yardstick by which one aspect of our school is measured.
Last year, our Phonics and KS1 attainment results were significantly above national however our KS2 SATs results were only just above national.
We are very pleased to let our school community know that our Phonics, KS1 and KS2 attainment results are all significantly above national with key improvements seen particularly in Reading and Maths at KS2. Well done to all the team and to the children for a year of hard work.
We had a very important visitor in to school as part of science week.
This is Star the Golden Eagle - who is owned and cared for by Joshua Daniel-Fox's Grandad.
We learned loads of new facts about this amazing bird including:
in lovely conditions Ms Flint and I took 10 boys and 10 girls to the Meres for a cross country race.
The boys ran first with the following results (around 120 boys competing):
Harry Bliss 11 Tom McDermott 30
Toby Shaw 13 Matthew Jesson 53
Joshua Lane 18 Lewis Sadler 55
Hari Pritchard 24 Oliver Grant 60
Oliver Baumann 27 Thomas Henton 69
The girls lined up next, also with around 120 of them competing:
Mollie Ludlam 2 Victoria Gray 44
Emily Parczuk 5 Rebecca Limb 72
Xanthe Mills 22 Henrietta Weaver 73
Izzy Donaldson 31 Daisie Weguelin 74
Izzy Moakes 32 Katherine Gray 75
Fabulous running from everyone, with great determination shown by them all. Ms Flint and I are very proud of you!
