Welcome to Class 2,
Oh my goodness, we are here! Day one, week one, term one and Class 2's first year of school! This term has some very exciting topics ahead… We will be looking at our ‘all about me bags’ as well as learning about The Pied Piper, The Ice Age, knights and dragons and even dinosaurs!
In this term it is our aim to get the children as settled into school, its routine, and expectations, as well as to start to build confidence and sense of excitement in learning! We feel very privileged to have the trust you have placed in us as your child's first teacher. We understand that transition for both children and parents can sometimes be a bit tricky however good communication is one of the best ways forward to ensure your child’s future is successful.
Just a few notices to help things run as smoothly as possible:
-You can help your children by reading with them as regularly as possible, showing them that it is fun and useful. Reading is a key skill and it starts here in Reception. Please make sure you sign and date the reading record so that we know where they are up to and we welcome your comments.
-Please encourage your child to write purposefully and use numbers to help consolidate everything they have learnt in school!
-We have PE on a Monday and a Friday so please make sure the children's bags are in school for those days. Also, please keep checking that they have got everything they need as they will need trainers this term.
-Labels!!!! Please, please, please make sure everything is labelled.
If there is ANYTHING you would like to talk about please come and chat to me and don't forget I'm only a phone call away. Please also be reassured that if I have ANY worries or concerns, I will contact you straight away!
